Wolseley to campsite 1
As you leave Wolseley, start by keeping the Mt Gambier line on your left. After 8 km, you cross the line and come to the Custon conservation Park. You can find out more about it by clicking here. The conservation Park is at the top of the township of Custon that never existed. Like many surveyed townships in South Australia, no-one took up the opportunity to establish a community there.

You will be walking through open grazing and cropping land with a significant Eucalyptus tree corridor beside the road. After Custon, the rail line is surrounded by low scrub and pasture. for 2 km before the campsite, you pass by heritage listed land which is owned by the farmer at Elhanan. This land has been perpetually reserved as natural scub. After 14.8 km of walking, you will see a sign to Campsite 1 on your right.
The campsite is on railway land, probably a storage reserve or even a proposed siding.
